Dr. Zhou joined the Computer Science Department at Montclair State University in Fall 2018. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2014 and holds an M.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Physics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
A dedicated and experienced Computer Science educator and researcher, Dr. Zhou has expertise in teaching, curriculum development, industry collaboration, and student mentorship. He is also a skilled software engineer specializing in full-stack development, user-centered design and prototyping, and multiplatform development, including Android and iOS applications. Committed to integrating cutting-edge technologies into academia, he enhances student success through innovative pedagogy.
Dr. Zhou’s academic contributions include research work on spin glass systems, perturbation-induced machine learning frameworks, facial recognition and open-environment continuous activity recognition for Human Computer Interaction, etc. His research has been published in leading venues such as TPAMI, TNNLS, CVPR, and NeurIPS.
